Vaginal Laser Rejuvenation
Vaginal Changes in a Woman’s Life
Vaginal changes are inevitable in every woman, especially after certain milestones like giving birth. The process of childbirth tends to negatively affect the vaginal tissue with excessive stretching and loosening of the vagina, which can then lead to sagging. With multiple childbirths, the vaginal tissue can lose its elasticity and deter restoration to its original healthy state. This condition is known as vaginal laxity and symptoms include pain, discomfort, itchiness, and the feeling of looseness in the private area. Some women may also experience urinary incontinence and reduction in pleasure during sexual intercourse, which can lead to a loss of sexual desire and poor body image.
Ageing is another cause of vaginal irregularities. When the body produces less estrogen, especially after menopause, the vaginal walls become thinner, dryer and more susceptible to inflammation. This condition is known as vaginal atrophy and results in discomfort, pain during intercourse and embarrassing urinary symptoms. Vaginal conditions and poor vaginal health can adversely affect a woman’s lifestyle and quality of life.
Laser Treatment for Vaginal Laxity and Atrophy
Laser Rejuvenation targeted at the vagina is used for the purposes of restoring the inside and outside of the vagina. It is a non-surgical procedure that can be done in-clinic. The energy-based lasers are used to stimulate the vaginal tissues to produce collagen and restore elasticity to help vaginal laxity and atrophy caused by childbirth, ageing and surgery.
Other In-clinic Procedures:
- Colposcopy
- Cervical Polypectomy (Removal of polyps)
- IUCD Insertion and Removal
